{mosimage}Druggy-sounding name aside, Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak make some of the most intoxicating dance-music sounds we’ve heard lately. Funky textures, exotic melodies and bass-heavy thumpin’ that won’t quit, all with a soulful shellac that shines on record and is sure to sparkle live — they’ll perform with a seven-piece band and multiple vocalists. Their soon-to-be-released collection of rarities and remixes, The Remix Sessions, adds even more to the genre-blending party, namely a retro flavor that dips into ’70s jazz and ’80s house. No surprise that the uber-groovy, international music aficionados behind Club Bossa:Nova (led by DJ Jason Bentley) will be the first to bring ’em to the U.S. for this special night sure to turn the El Rey into one big ’n’ beautiful beat stew. Also with DJ Mark Rae (Rae & Christian, Grand Central Records). El Rey Theatre, 5515 Wilshire Blvd., L.A.; Sat., March 31, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.; $20. www.bossanovaclub.com.
