Authorities on Tuesday afternoon were searching for a suspect or suspects who robbed a Bank of America in Koreatown, a sergeant at the Los Angeles Police Department's Olympic Division told the Weekly.

An active search was underway around the bank at 3442 Wilshire Blvd., he said. The Twitter user Koreatown LA originally reported the heist and stated that bloodshed at the scene might have been indicated.

Update: Koreatown LA tweets that the possible blood spotted at the scene was probably ink from die packs thrown in with bank cash to help thwart robbers.

Police could not confirm to the Weekly if shots were fired. The sergeant indicated that nearly all resources from the Olympic station were sent to the scene.

City News Service reported the robbery happened about 9:15 a.m.
