Several Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision near Skittone Road

MODESTO, CA (December 23, 2021) – A three-car crash on Patterson Road left Kolleen Jackson dead Tuesday morning.

California Highway Patrol said the collision happened around 9:43 a.m.

Per reports, 68-year-old Jackson was driving a white Ford SUV when she hit a green Chevrolet SUV driven by 27-year-old Sumer Cheever, of Modesto who was with three young children.

Furthermore, authorities said Jackson was traveling at an unsafe speed as a vehicle was stopped ahead of her. When she turned to the left, the right front of her Ford sideswiped the left rear of the Honda.

Moreover, the impact caused the Ford to rotate clockwise and overturn onto its left side, entering the eastbound lane. The front of Cheever’s Chevrolet struck the right side of the Ford as it was overturning.

One man suffered major internal injuries before paramedics took him to Doctors Medical Center for treatment. Another person suffered major injuries, as well as the three children.

Paramedics transported the children, a 3-year-old, a 2 years-old, and a 6-month-old baby, to local hospitals.

Authorities closed the area and diverted the traffic to Coffee Road. Eventually, Patterson Road reopened a little after 11:30 a.m.

It is currently unknown if drugs and/or alcohol contributed to the collision. More information will be provided once available.
