Solo Car Collision on Old Yard Drive Left 51-year-old Man Dead

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 9, 2021) – 51-year-old Kevin Mallard died on Tuesday after a single-car accident on Old Yard Drive.

The solo-car crash happened around 9:00 a.m. on the 300 block of Old Yard Road.

According to the CHP, Mallard was the one behind the wheel, for reasons unknown, he failed to make a turn and struck into a block wall.

CHP officers responded and found Mallard dead at the scene.

A woman and a juvenile passenger also sustained injuries from the crash, medics transported both victims to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time, it is unknown whether the crash was caused by speed, drugs, or alcohol.
