34-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured in Stolen-Car Crash near Trask Avenue

GARDEN GROVE, CA (May 29, 2024)Kevin Luu died Saturday night, in a stolen-vehicle collision on Taft Street and Trask Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m.

According to reports, traffic officers chased a teenage driver in a vehicle believed to be stolen near Taft Street and Garden Grove Boulevard. After the pursuit, the suspect headed south on Taft and collided with three other cars.

Police stated that the teen tried to escape on foot but was eventually apprehended by officers. Emergency medical personnel transported two victims to the hospital in critical condition.

One of the patients, identified as 34-year-old Kevin Luu of Garden Grove, later died from his injuries. The police have placed the unidentified suspect in juvenile detention.
