The 36-year-old daughter of Sen. John Kerry was off the hook Monday for DUI after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Thursday in Los Angeles.

Cops pulled Alexandra Kerry over about 12:40 a.m. in the Hollywood area for allegedly driving with expired registration tags and subsequently pulled her out of the car to investigate whether the daughter of the onetime Democratic presidential nominee had been drinking. They took her to the Hollywood Station and gave her a Breathalyzer test.

The test turned up negatory. She was under the state blood alcohol limit. “We reviewed the arrest report and have declined to file criminal charges due to insufficient evidence,” said Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan.

A spokesman for the Kerry family said as much last week: “Alexandra Kerry was pulled over for an expired registration and was released after the results of a breathalyzer test at the police station were under the legal limit,” said Jodi Seth. “Senator Kerry supports his daughter.”

She's a producer and director.
