62-Year-Old Man Dies in Traffic Accident on Orangeburg Avenue

MODESTO, CA (April 14, 2022) – Saturday evening, a hit-and-run crash on Lakewood Avenue left Kenneth Earl Hutt dead, police said.

According to the police, the collision happened when a vehicle struck Hutt while he was riding his bike between Briggsmore and Orangeburg Avenues.

Eventually, officers arrived at the scene and located Hutt suffering from major injuries.

Despite the life-saving efforts of the paramedics, Hutt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the involved drivers fled the scene before the authorities arrived,

Multiple witnesses described the involved vehicles as a red Toyota pickup and a white mid-2000s Chevrolet Silverado.

In addition, one or both vehicles could have substantial front-end damage, including the windshield.

Modesto officials are working to identify the hit-and-run suspects.
