Update: The missing boy has been found! Find out about his dramatic return on next page.

Police are continuing their search this morning for a missing 12-year-old boy from the Westlake District who was last seen on Wednesday.

Authorities started their search yesterday after Keifer Jacob Farfan didn't show to class at his new school, Liechty Middle School.

Police officers received a tip:

This morning, an unnamed person said the boy was seen today near Hauser and Adams in the USC area, according to Lt. Jim Gavin, of the LA Police Department.

The middle-schooler is 5'3 and weighs 140 lbs. He has long wavy hair.

According to ABC7, the boy had some trouble acclimating to his new surroundings.

“Because he's at this new school, there's been a change in behavior, possibly because of a disconnect from friends at his old school,” said Sgt. Melvin Gamble, of the LAPD.

Lt. Gavin said they intend to search his favorite hang-out spots, his school and local hospitals. They also intend to conduct a search at the last school that he attended.

“Because of his age, we'll have a unit actively looking for him,” he said.

Update: Today police learned that the missing boy was at his father's house near USC, a few miles from where his mother and step father live.

According to Lt. Gavin, the boy said he ran away to be with his biological father because he didn't feel comfortable with the move.

LAPD say they believe he is in good condition and they plan to question him later today about where he has been — and what happened to him.
