Motorcyclist Killed in Semi-Truck Collision near Lebec Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 18, 2022) – Sunday afternoon, a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 left a motorcyclist dead and Kaylin Riolo injured.

The semi-truck accident occurred around 4:30 p.m., near Lebec Road on October 9th.

Per reports, the 32-year-old male rider of a 2007 Harley Davidson was heading north when he collided with a Hyundai freight-liner semi-truck.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported the passenger of the motorcycle, 30-year-old Riolo, to Kern Medical Center for further treatment of major injuries.

The semi-truck driver, 55-year-old Joe Riddle, of Hurricane, was unharmed in the collision.

At this time, authorities have withheld the deceased victim’s name pending notification of next of kin. Bakersfield Police are still investigating the crash and will provide updates as they become available.
