Rollover Crash on Sloan Canyon Road Results in Fatality

CASTAIC, CA (August 19, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, 17-year-old Kayla Payan was killed and five others were injured in a crash on Sloan Canyon Road.

Firefighters responded to the incident around 4:31 p.m., on the 28400 block of Sloan Canyon Road in Castaic.

Upon arrival, the Los Angeles County Fire Officials discovered a vehicle on its roof. The overturned vehicle struck down a pole that landed in a residential backyard.

Later on, the Los Angeles County Fire Department declared Kayla Payan dead at the scene. In addition, responding personnel located multiple severely injured occupants.

However, the identities of the other involved parties remain unavailable.

The Castaic Authorities are investigating the factors that contributed to the rollover crash.
