Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton, Katya Garcia-Ayala Arrested

FULLERTON, CA (July 20, 2021) – Thursday morning, July 8, Katya Garcia-Ayala, was arrested and a pedestrian was killed after a DUI crash.

The crash took place around 3:30 a.m., on Harbor Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue, as stated by the report.

According to reports, a white Ford sedan struck the male pedestrian at the intersection. Following the impact, the driver fled the scene.

Officers discovered the Ford with severe impact damage near the location of the accident shortly after, around 4:12 a.m.

Katya Garcia-Ayala was later arrested for felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence after a DUI investigation by a Drug Recognition Expert.

Shortly after the collision, both sides of Orangethorpe Avenue were blocked. Later in the morning, the westbound lanes reopened.
