After some of the most bizarre behavior to befall a comedian, the 100-city Katt Williams tour has been canceled, LA Weekly has learned.

The L.A.-based comedian had about 90 more stops left but the concert promoter Live Nation pulled the plug this weekend, we were told: It was possible, however, that another company might try take over the rest of the dates.

Williams was detained by cops at least three times in the last few weeks, including this latest arrest over the weekend:

On Friday Yolo County sheriff's deputies arrested Williams based on a warrant related to a bizarre chase earlier in nearby Sacramento in which the comedian, riding a three-wheeled motorbike, allegedly rode on a sidewalk and failed to stop for cops.

He reportedly posted bail and was out yesterday.

The latest stint in handcuffs comes as some of his supporting talent and staff had quit the tour, the Weekly learned. Those who bailed included comedian John Witherspoon, Gina Yashire, a DJ and at least one personal assistant, we were told.

Some on the crew feared that Williams was surrounding himself with allegedly bad influences, including rap impresario Suge Knight.

Members of the entourage witnessed off-stage assault and were in constant fear of violence, we were told.

[Added at 3:53 p.m.]: We got a hold of an L.A. Superior Court lawsuit (see it here) filed against Williams by former personal assistant Melissa Ishage, who claims Williams hit her with his closed fist, sending her to a hospital.

The filing says she suffered emotional distress and “other injuries” as a result of the alleged assault and other alleged threats of violence by Williams. She wants all her medical bills and related costs covered as well as $15 million, according to the suit.

Williams was arrested in Seattle one week ago after allegedly brandishing a pool cue and throwing a bottle during a fracas at a bar.

On Nov. 15 he got out of jail after being arrested overnight in Oakland for allegedly hitting an 18-year-old rapper over the head with a bottle. He also had a Bentley stolen during his Oakland stop, we were told.

The Weekly learned that Williams was still angered over the theft went he went off on audience members during his Oakland show the next night, challenging some to fight. At least one audience member filed a suit against Williams and Live Nation that seeks class action status.

[Added at 3:48 p.m.]: The suit (see it here) claims:

… After a short series of bizarre events onstage, in which Williams confronted a heckler, took his clothes off and attempted to fight at least three audience members, the “act” abruptly ended after about 10 minutes. In sum, Williams failed to perform. The audience members deserve their money back.

On Nov. 29 Williams was a no-show for a Seattle gig: We were told he ran out of gas en route to the venue and allegedly slashed the tires on his Hummer and rammed it with a back-up hummer in an alleged melt-down that prevented him from showing up.

Last week Williams told a Seattle TV station:

I'm just going to go ahead and announce my retirement from stand-up. I'm kind of done.

His concert scheduled tonight in Mobile, Alabama was canceled per Live Nation's website, though other dates remain online for now.
