Two Dead, One Injured Following Two-Car Crash on Victory Boulevard

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 9, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a two-car collision on North Balboa Boulevard killed Kathy Chavez and another person. The incident happened on February 8th, at around 3:46 a.m., near the 6400 block of North Balboa Boulevard, near Victory Boulevard. According to reports, a man was speeding in a Corvette, when he ran a red light and collided with a Honda Accord. The impact of the collision caused the driver of the Honda, Kathy Chavez, and the two occupants of the Corvette to sustain serious injuries. Additionally, the crash sent the two vehicles into a strip-mall sign damaging it. Emergency crews to the site of the crash pronounced 45-year-old Kathy Chavez dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported the 31-year-old Corvette driver and his passenger to a local hospital for treatment. Later that day, the Corvette driver died at the hospital, due to the extent of his condition.
