Los Angeles police Robbery-Homicide detectives today were investigating the murder of a 38-year-old Hollywood woman, whose shooting death is possibly linked to a 2008 double homicide.

Karine Hakobyan was found dead behind the wheel of her Honda CRV with a gunshot wound to the back of her head about 8:20 p.m. March 26. Her car was parked in a fenced, gated area on the 5800 block of Lexington Avenue in Hollywood.

Homicide detectives believe that Hakobyan is related to 43-year-old Khachik Safaryan and his 8-year-old daughter Lusine. They were found slain December 11, 2008, inside their apartment in the 1200 block of Tamarind Avenue by Safaryan's 15-year-old daughter. Their murders remain unsolved. According to police reports, Hakobyan's Honda CRV was discovered about two blocks away from Safaryan's home.

A motive for the three killings was unknown. Anyone with information about the killings should contact LAPD Robbery Homicide detectives at (213) 486-6980.
