October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, chef Karen Hatfield is hosting a one-night dinner at Hatfield's on Oc. 8 with help from five of L.A,'s best female chefs, including Suzanne Tracht (Jar), Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill), Dakota Weiss (W Hotel Los Angeles) and Nyesha Arrington (Wilshire), with dessert by Sherry Yard (Spago).

Hatfield's is aiming to make the Pink Apron dinner an annual event, pairing women chefs, winemakers and cookbook authors — this time it's Charlotte Druckman, author of the new book Skirt Steak: Women Chefs on Standing the Heat and Staying in the Kitchen — in an event that raises funds for breast cancer research.

As for the five-course dinner, Hatfield will start off with hors d'oeuvres such as goat cheese panna cotta and deviled quail eggs with smoked trout. Then it's on to Dakota Weiss' fall squash carpaccio with crispy Padrón peppers; Mary Sue Milliken's bean and bacon tostada with verdolaga; Suzanne Tracht's seared Cape Ann scallops; a to-be-detemined meat course from Nyesha Arrington; and a dessert from Sherry Yard called, “Rocks – Pebbles – Chocolate.”

The cost is $110 per person, a portion of which will be donated to breast cancer research. Reservations can be made with Hatfield's.
