32-Year-Old Woman Killed in Traffic Collision in Northwest of Wickenburg

YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ (July 14, 2022) – On Sunday, a head-on crash claimed the lives of 32-year-old Karen Garcia-Rodriguez and her unborn child.

The incident happened on July 10th, at around 8:30 p.m., northwest of Wickenburg, on U.S. 93. The crash involved a Jeep Liberty and a Honda Civic.

According to reports, Garcia-Rodriguez was driving in a Civic northbound on U.S. 93, when a Jeep traveling in the opposite direction collided with her vehicle. Both Garcia-Rodriguez and the unidentified driver of the Jeep sustained injuries due to the crash. Garcia-Rodriguez was pregnant at the time of the accident.

Emergency responders rushed Garcia-Rodriguez and the driver of the Jeep to two separate local hospitals. Garcia-Rodriguez and her unborn child were pronounced dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, police said that the Jeep’s driver showed signs of impairment. Further investigations are still underway.
