The Kardashian sisters can't escape the sour taste of haterade these days. First there was a movement to get Kim to pay more taxes (she saw a California rate of 10.3 percent in 2010 even though she made $12 million). Then there was the post-divorce-announcement boycott of all things Kim (and, therefore, all things shallow and material).

Now les dames Kardashian are getting spanked for selling fur in their DASH boutiques.

This despite the fact that …

… Khloe Kardashian has appeared in PETA ads condemning fur fashion.

Huh.

So, anyway, self-proclaimed supermodels and animal activists Katie Cleary and Joanna Krupa have started an online petition asking the Kardashian sisters to stop peddling fur in their boutiques.

(DASH stores exist in the Kardashian capital of Calabasas as well as in New York and Miami.)

The online drive is being hosted by Care2, here.

Nearly 50,000 signatures have been gathered online so far. Care2 says its members …

… have signed the petition to get them to stop promoting the cruel and violent fur industry as “fashionable.”

Cleary says:

As models and animal activists, we're furious to see the Kardashians wearing fur and selling it in their DASH stores. People view them as fashion inspiration and role models, so they shouldn't be supporting the cruel fur industry.
