One Juvenile Hospitalized after Pedestrian Crash on Jackson Street

RIVERSIDE, CA (October 13, 2021)  A child sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on Jackson Street on Sunday morning.

The accident happened just before 3:45 p.m. on October 9, on northbound Jackson Street near Garfield Street.

According to reports, a Mercedes SUV going northbound on Jackson struck a Chevrolet Cruze traveling westbound on Garfield Street after running a red light.

Furthermore, one of the cars involved hit a juvenile pedestrian who was crossing Jackson Street in the crosswalk at the time.

Additionally, the juvenile was thrown into a Toyota Camry that was stopped at the red light for southbound Jackson Street as a result of the collision.

Medics responded and transported the child to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities have not said if drunk driving had a role in the collision, however, an active investigation is ongoing.
