Minor Hospitalized after Pedestrian Accident near Highway 74

PALM DESERT, CA (November 16, 2022) – Monday night, a juvenile sustained injuries in a pedestrian collision on Haystack Road.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., near Highway 74 on October 31st.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the child was trick-or-treating in the neighborhood when she ran across the street and was hit by a passing vehicle.

Responding paramedics then transported the injured child to Desert Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

Authorities are currently withholding the child’s name. Meanwhile, the uninjured driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Following preliminary duties, police ruled out alcohol or drugs as potential factors in the pedestrian collision on Haystack Road. However, an active investigation is underway. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
