Detective Pronounced Dead after Tragic Car Accident near Centennial Parkway

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 13, 2022) – 45-year-old Detective Justin Terry was fatally struck by a steel crossbar in an accident on US 95.

The tragic incident occurred around 7:00 a.m., on Friday near Centennial Parkway.

Per reports, a southbound tractor-trailer with a large piece of construction equipment collided with a steel crossbar under the overpass.

The crossbar used to designate a low clearance for trucks then collapsed on top of a silver sedan that was traveling behind the trailer.

Firefighters were able to extricate the driver and begin life-saving measures. Despite life-saving efforts, the sedan driver was pronounced dead on scene.

Officials later identified the deceased victim as 45-year-old Terry. The police detective was a father of two who worked to apprehend sex offenders. He will be deeply missed by his community.
