Like the true, open-door liberal he is, Eric Garcetti will spend some of his first weekday as mayor listening to your concerns.

For real. Following in the footsteps of Newark Mayor Cory Booker, with whom Garcetti is friends, and former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, the new top dog at L.A. City Hall will get professorial and hold “office hours” Monday:

On his first weekday as mayor Garcetti says he'll throw his office doors open to constituents from 2 to 5 p.m.

Yep, you'll get to sit down mano-a-mano with the new star of West Coast politics and one of the most-powerful city leaders in America.

The G-Man made the announcement on Facebook:

Monday is my first day as Mayor and I am holding office hours from 2 to 5 pm to meet one-on-one with L.A. residents who need help from their city government.

Unfortunately, you can't just walk up for first-come-first-served mayoral attention. No, you have email his highness and hope you are chosen randomly. Here's the address: garcetti.officehours@lacity.org.

Just don't use the time to complain about potholes. We're pretty sure he knows.
