Two-Vehicle Accident on South Highland Avenue Left One Los Angeles Woman Dead

FONTANA, CA (July 19, 2022) – On Friday, a two-vehicle crash on Juniper Avenue claimed the life of Julie Avila Leandro, authorities said.

According to initial reports, the crash occurred on July 8th around 4:33 p.m. at Juniper and South Highland Avenue.

Furthermore, investigators said a silver Honda Accord with three occupants made a westbound turn and collided with a black GMC pickup.

As a result, the back passenger of the Honda, identified as 22-year-old Julie Avila Leandro of Los Angeles, died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the two other passengers in the Honda and the two passengers of the GMC were transported to a nearby hospital for unspecified injuries.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Fontana Officials continue to investigate the crash at this time and will release updates as they become available.
