Matthewdavid's Leaving Records, a digital imprint of Alpha Pup with strong ties to Dublab, has just announced a pending release from Julia Holter, best known for her work with the Human Ear Music collective (Nite Jewel, Geneva Jacuzzi, et al.). In fact, Holter is the co-chairperson of that crew, which also releases records, so it's pretty cool that she's contributing what looks to be a pretty awesome full-length to the younger upstart. Best as we can tell, that's the cover art (to the right) for the upcoming Greek Tragedy, due out some time in the first half of 2010.

Leaving has already offered up a pretty stunning MP3 from the release, and here it is.

Julia Holter – “Try To Make Yourself A Work Of Art” (MP3)

And speaking of works of art, Holter will make you one (to save all that nasty “trying”) if you send her $25. The money goes to Human Ear, and in return, you'll receive Handmade Thing, which seems to include music, “Heloise's sister's love letters to Abelard's sister,” and additional requested elements (if requested), “all in a small object made special for you.”

Finally, this is a year old, but still quite awesome.
