In the early hours of February 13, 55-year-old Latino Jubal Guevara-Trinidad died after being hit by a car in the 100 block of East 43rd Street.

The coroner's records showed that Guevara-Trinidad was struck multiple times by a vehicle and then was dragged along ground.

LAPD authorities arrived at the incident after responding to a traffic collision radio call and pronounced Guevara-Trinidad dead at the scene.

According to the Los Angeles Times, investigators learned the victim was in a fight prior to being hit by the car. The fight moved into an alleyway, where he was struck.

Officials at the time found the vehicle and identified a person of interest, but were withholding more details about the suspect, citing the ongoing investigation.

Authorities did not believe the killing was gang-related.
