Dennis RomeroA 45-year-old Santa Fe Springs man who authorities say fatally shot an adversary and then buried him in concrete will face the the music in court today.
Juan Manuel Ramirez, a.k.a. Juan Alberto Galviz, was charged with one count of homicide with a special allegation that he fired the murder weapon, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Here’s what authorities allege happened:
Whittier police were tipped off on Sunday that a body was encased in concrete at a business in the 12400 block of Los Nietos Road in Santa Fe Springs.
After some excavation Monday they indeed found a body “encased in newly poured concrete,” according to statements by Whittier police the D.A.’s office.
Further investigation, cops said, led to Ramirez, located at a nearby business in the 9400 block of John Street in Santa Fe Springs.
Police believe the murder was the result of a “feud” between the suspect and victim, who had yet to be identified. The L.A. County Coroner’s office told us they had an ID but couldn’t release it until family members had been notified.
The D.A.’s office states:
Ramirez allegedly fatally shot the victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of relatives, on Dec. 23. He later encased the body in cement and buried inside a Santa Fe Springs business …
Prosecutors will recommend $1 million bail. Ramirez could face life behind bars if convicted.
