Two-Vehicle Collision in Porterville Leads to Arrest of 32-Year-Old Man

PORTERVILLE, CA (April 3, 2023) –  Tuesday evening, police arrested Juan Gonzalez Cervantes following a DUI collision near Leggett Street. Officers responded to the collision around 7:45 p.m. at the 100 block of South Leggett Street. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a motorist suffering from serious injuries. Eventually, paramedics rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment. In addition, police also identified the second driver, 32-year-old Juan Gonzalez Cervantes of Porterville, who showed signs of intoxication. According to the Porterville Police Department, Cervantes failed a field sobriety test one of the officers gave. Police determined that his blood alcohol content was .21%. Consequently, police arrested Cervantes and booked him in South County Detention Facility for DUI causing injuries. Officials have currently set his bail at $100,000.
