Steven Kay Arrested after Bicycle Collision that Killed Juan Carlos Diaz

WATSONVILLE, CA (December 3, 2021) – On Saturday, Juan Carlos Diaz died and police arrested Steven Kay after a deadly bicycle collision on Green Valley Road.

The incident happened around 2:00 a.m., along Green Valley Road. Authorities responded to the scene shortly after reports of a bicycle vs car collision.

Reports state a vehicle driven by 55-year old Steven Kay struck and killed 25-year-old bicyclist Juan Carlos Diaz.

In addition, Kay attempted to flee the scene but was later arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run.

The roadway shutdown for an extended period of time for cleanup and preliminary duties.
