71-Year-Old Man Died in Traffic Accident on Oakwood Drive

EAST PALO ALTO, CA (April 28, 2022) – A pedestrian crash on Bayshore Road claimed the life of Juan Barrera Gomez Monday morning.

According to the police, the crash happened around 5:09 a.m. on East Bayshore Road at Oakwood Drive.

Furthermore, investigators said a car struck a man pushing a shopping cart in the southbound lane wearing dark clothing.

Unfortunately, 71-year-old Gomez of Menlo Park died at the scene, confirmed by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Barrera Gomez’s church created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
