44-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies in Pedestrian Accident near Agua Dulce Canyon Road
NEWHALL, CA (March 13, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Juan Avalos was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Highway 14.
The incident occurred around 12:13 a.m., just north of Agua Dulce Canyon Road of March 5th.
According to reports, Avalos ran across the southbound lanes when the driver of a 2022 Mazda MX5 struck him. In addition, the driver of a 2020 Toyota Camry also struck him.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 44-year-old Avalos dead at the scene. Following preliminary duties, police were not able to determine if Avalos was impaired at that time.
Meanwhile, a SigAlert was executed in the No. 2, 3, and 4 northbound lanes until 4:43 a.m. The cause of the crash is still under investigation and any witnesses are urged to contact the CHP Newhall Area Office at (661) 600-1600.
