Bartolome Godinez-Perez Arrested following Head-On Crash near Greenway Road
PHOENIX, AZ (May 19, 2023) – On Sunday morning, Josiah Boteilho was killed and 6 other family members were injured in a wrong-way collision. The incident happened on May 14th, just after 8:00 a.m., near 32nd Street and Greenway Road involving two vehicles. Investigation showed that a pickup truck driven by 36-year-old Bartolome Godinez-Perez was traveling southbound on 31st Street. There, the pickup failed to yield at a stop sign. Additionally, reports showed that Godinez-Perez was driving against traffic when he collided with a vehicle occupied by seven people. As a result, all of the family members suffered minor to extreme injuries. First responders transported the victims to a local hospital for treatment. At the hospital, medics pronounced 13-year-old Josiah Boteilho dead due to the extent of his injuries. Meanwhile, Godinez-Perez remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
