Hit-and-Run Crash near Marshall Road and Highway 33 Left Two Fatalities

MERCED, CA (January 25, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash on Highway 33 claimed the life of Joshua Price and Audra Ketcher Wednesday morning.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:00 a.m., near Marshall Road.

Investigators later determined that the driver of a 2015 GMC Sierra slowed to make a left turn onto a private property.

For reasons unknown, a 2007 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle slammed into the rear of the truck. The impact then ejected two people from the motorcycle.

Shortly after, a northbound tractor-trailer struck both victims. Upon impact, the big-rig driver fled the scene. Due to the extent of their injuries, 40-year-old Price and 42-year-old Ketcher died at the scene.

Both directions of the roadway were closed for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, Gustine Officials are searching for the big-rig driver who fled the scene, traveling north on Highway 33.

No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Joshua Price and Audra Ketcher.
