Rider Dead after Single-Vehicle Accident near Tropicana Avenue
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 28, 2023) – 33-year-old Joshua Olvera was killed Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 15.
The crash took place on May 7th, at around 12:00 p.m., near Tropicana Avenue.
According to reports, the rider of a Yamaha sports bike traveling northbound made an unsafe turn into another lane, causing him to crash. The impact of the collision caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle.
First responders arrived shortly after and transported the motorcyclist to University Medical Center. There, he succumbed to his injuries. The rider was later identified as 33-year-old Joshua Olvera.
Following the crash, crews closed down the two travel lanes where the accident happened for several hours. They performed cleanup and preliminary duties before reopening the road.
At this time, no further details are available regarding the motorcycle crash on Interstate 15. However, LVMPD continues to investigate the crash and will release additional information once available.
