Deadly Semi-Truck Accident on Merced Avenue in Wasco

WASCO, CA (June 15, 2021) – 34-year-old Joshua Mark Macut died Monday afternoon after a deadly semi-truck collision on Magnolia Avenue.

The incident happened just after 12:00 p.m., on June 7. Officers arrived at the intersection of Merced and Magnolia Avenue. 

According to reports, Macut was driving a 2015 Toyota eastbound on Merced Avenue. There, he hit the semi-truck as it proceeded through the intersection.

Investigators say Macut tried to brake but failed. As a result, he struck the right side of the semi-truck.

Responding officers said Macut was in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries due to the impact of the crash. However, it is unclear whether he died on scene or at the hospital.

Meanwhile, officials did not release the condition of the semi-truck driver.

At this time, officers are conducting an active investigation to determine the cause of the crash. More details will be given as they become available.
