21-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run near 10th Avenue, One Arrested
HANFORD, CA (November 9, 2022) – Friday night, Joshua Kinser was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Lacey Boulevard.
Officers responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m., near 10th Avenue.
Reports indicate that 21-year-old Kinser was struck by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene. Responding medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Emergency crews closed both directions of the roadway for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
The following morning, 21-year-old Benjamin Fernandez, turned himself in at the Hanford Police Department. As a result, police booked Fernandez into Kings County Jail for felony hit-and-run, causing a fatality and involuntary manslaughter.
No further details regarding the Lacey Boulevard incident have been released to the public. Hanford Officials will provide more information once available.
