Local Whiskey Maker and Veteran Dies in Rear-End Crash near Peach Avenue

FRESNO, CA (February 22, 2023) – Wednesday, Joshua Crane was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 180.

Police responded to the scene near Peach Avenue on February 11th.

According to reports, Crane was heading west on the freeway when he rear-ended a Chevrolet Silverado pickup-truck.

The impact ejected Crane from the motorcycle onto the road. Paramedics arrived and transported him to Community Regional Medical where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the involved driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. In addition, officers ruled out intoxication as a potential factor.

Family of Crane started a GoFundMe page to help sustain his distillery business.

Joshua Crane served in the United States Navy and was the owner of Toasted Oak Whiskey – a brand carried across the Central San Joaquin Valley. At this time, the California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the motorcycle crash.
