47-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Park Boulevard

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 26, 2023) – Saturday night, Josh Gilliland was injured in a pedestrian hit-and-run on El Cajon Boulevard.

The accident occurred around 8:50 p.m., at the 1800 block of El Cajon Boulevard near Park Boulevard on June 10th.

Per reports, the driver of a dark colored sedan struck Gilliand as he was standing near the bus lane. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the severely injured pedestrian.

Responding medics then rushed the 47-year-old pedestrian to a nearby hospital with major injuries, including head lacerations, a fracture in his right shoulder, and brain bleeding.

Due to the extent of his injuries, Gilliland’s family decided to stop his life support soon. At this time, SDPD urges anyone who has information of the driver of dark-colored Honda Civic or BMW 3 Series to call them at 888-580-8477.
