High School Senior Killed in Truck Accident near Poplar Street

OAKDALE, CA (January 4, 2022) – Authorities pronounced Joseph Casas dead after a truck crash on Oak Avenue late Monday evening.

Oakdale Police Department responded to the scene at the 200 block of North Oak Avenue after receiving reports of the accident.

Eventually, authorities discovered an 18-year-old who fell from a moving truck while hanging out of the passenger window. He was later identified as Joseph Casas.

Meanwhile, five other minor passengers were in the truck including the driver.

Reports indicate that Casas was a senior at Oakdale High School. Following the crash, school district officials said counseling and other services will be ready for students returning from winter break.
