80-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Collision near 85th Street West

LANCASTER, CA (September 4, 2023) – Sunday evening, Joseph Bongiorno Jr. was killed in a big-rig accident on Avenue D.

Authorities responded to the scene around 8:55 p.m., near 85th Street West.

Per reports, the driver of a silver Honda CRV was heading east and attempted to pass another car. The Honda then struck a big-rig, pushing it off the road and into a nearby field.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the Honda driver dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased victim as 80-year-old Bongiorno Jr.
