Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Atlantic Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (April 18, 2023) – Friday afternoon, Jose Trujillo was arrested after killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident. The crash occurred at around 3:15 p.m., April 7th, in the area of 45th Street and Atlantic Avenue. Upon investigation, officers have learned that a driver, later identified as 42-year-old Trujillo struck a pedestrian and ended up pinning him in two vehicles. Furthermore, the police have identified Trujillo’s vehicle, a 2011 Ford F-150. Police added that he later fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian. Consequently, the officers located Trujillo near 56th Street and Rose Avenue, and they believed that impairment was the factor of the incident. He was arrested for murder, driving under the influence, and hit-and-run with a bail set at $2,000,000.
