Pedestrian vs. Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 Kills 40-Year-Old Jose Perez

VENTURA, CA (October 1, 2021) – Tuesday morning, 40-year-old Jose Perez was killed in a pedestrian crash on Highway 101.

At an unknown time in the morning, officers were dispatched to southbound lanes of Highway 101 near Garden Street after reports of a pedestrian collision.

According to reports, Perez was walking along the highway when he was struck by a Honda Civic under unknown circumstances.

Unfortunately the 40-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.

However, the events leading up to the fatal incident remain unclear at this time.

Additionally, the driver of the civic remained on scene to cooperate with authorities.

Moreover, there are no indications of speed or intoxication as factors in the collision, but an active investigation remains ongoing.
