3-Year-Old Child and Father Died in Truck Crash along Rose Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (March 7, 2022) – Tuesday, 42-year-old Jose Palacios Gonzalez and his 3-year-old child died in a crash on Rose Avenue.

The incident happened just before 10:30 p.m., in the 6600 block of Rose Avenue.

According to reports, the driver of a dark-colored 2014 Dodge Ram pickup-truck smashed through the wall of the building. Investigators say Gonzalez and his child were living inside the apartment building at the time.

Authorities located the front end of the truck inside the apartment. Despite life-saving attempts by officials and witnesses in the area, Gonzales succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Meanwhile, medics took the man’s 3-year-old daughter to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Authorities are still looking for the truck driver that fled the scene on foot after the crash. Police described the man as between 20-25 years of age.

California Highway Patrol is urging anyone with information about the crash to reach the LBPD at 562-570-7355. Anonymous tips can be submitted through L.A. Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
