33-Year-Old Man Dies in Fatal 2-Car Crash in Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS, CA (March 11, 2021) – Thursday morning, 33-year-old Jose Leiva was killed in a fiery crash on 60 Freeway.

The crash occurred around 5:35 a.m., at Pomona (60) Freeway near Hacienda Boulevard, according to the authorities.

As stated by the CHP, Leiva was heading eastbound in a Toyota Camry on the 60 freeway when an Infiniti G35 rear-ended him. As a result, both cars veered to the right and hit the sound wall.

Moreover, the Infiniti traveled up the wall then came back down. Meanwhile, the Camry bursted in flames.

The Infiniti’s passenger, a 21-year-old Los Angeles male, sustained minor injuries while the driver, Bryan Morales, 19, of Los Angeles, complained of pain. The passenger was taken to a nearby hospital.

At this time, the CHP works to establish the cause of the crash. Once available, more information will be released.
