63-Year-Old Man Dead after Striking Parked Semi-Truck near State Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 11, 2022) – Early Friday morning, an auto collision on Highway 99 claimed the life of Jose Jesus Macias.

The incident happened around 5:00 a.m., near State Road on August 5th.

According to reports, Macias was driving a Nissan northbound on the highway. For reasons currently unknown, the Nissan veered off the road and went through a perimeter fence.

The Nissan eventually came to a stop after striking the rear of a parked semi-truck in the area.

Upon arrival, medics transported Macias to Kern Medical with life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of his condition, officials later pronounced 63-year-old Macias dead at the hospital.

At this time, Bakersfield authorities continue to investigate the deadly collision near State Road. Anyone with further information about the crash is encouraged to contact local police.
