L.A. has to be the sex crime capital of the nation. We have so many creeps that we actually seem to export their crimes to places as far away as New York state.

The U.S. Attorney in Buffalo today announced that Jose Francisco Pineda, a 32-year-old who's originally from El Salvador, pleaded guilty to posing as a 17-year-old online and getting a 12-year-old from New York state to take nude photos of herself and email them back to him in L.A.

Outstanding:

After pleading guilty Wednesday to “coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity” Pineda faces a maximum of life in prison and a possible $250,000 fine, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

This is how Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti says Pineda went about his dirty business:

… In November of 2008, the defendant, who was residing in Los Angeles, California, began communicating online with a 12 year old minor female who was residing in New York State. Pineda, who was 28 years old at that time, misrepresented his age to the minor female, purporting to be 17 years old. At various times between 2008 and June of 2010, the defendant and the minor victim communicated over the internet and the telephone, conversations that were often sexual in nature. During some of these conversations, Pineda asked the victim to take sexually explicit photographs of herself and send them to him.

If this douche thought he could hide behind a computer and get away with it, even from 2,800 miles away, he was mistaken.

He'll face a judge for sentencing May 4.
