2 Men Killed, Adam Alvarez Hurt in Two-Vehicle Accident near Lerdo Highway

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 16, 2022) – Early Saturday evening, Jose Cruz and Jose Mendoza were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 33.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:00 p.m., just north of Lerdo Highway.

Investigators said the collision involved a black Toyota pickup-truck and a black four-door sedan.

Per reports, two men were in a 2009 Honda traveling north on the highway when the driver lost control and swerved into the southbound lanes. As a result, the Honda collided head-on with a 2003 Toyota driven by Adam Alvarez, 36, of Corona.
