Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Ramon Road Kills 57-Year-Old Jose Campuzano

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (September 7, 2021) Jose Campuzano, 57, of Cathedral City, tragically died Thursday afternoon after a hit-and-run accident on Ramon Road.

The incident occurred on Ramon Road, just east of Landau Boulevard, around 8:07 p.m. on September 2.

According to authorities, the vehicle, described as an older model Dodge Ram crew cab truck, collided with Campuzano on Ramon Road, under unknown circumstances.

Medics rushed Campuzano to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities said the driver fled the scene right after the crash. However, at this time, the suspect, who was only identified as a 57-year-old Cathedral City resident, later turned himself in to police.

Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate and reach out to call the Cathedral City Police Traffic Bureau at 760-770-0300 as soon as possible.
