Police Arrested Brothers in Connection to Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Collision

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 23, 2021) – Authorities arrested Jose and Antonio Catarino-Reyes after a multi-vehicle crash on Union Avenue.

The incident happened Tuesday evening in the 2100 block of Union Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Following preliminary investigations, Jose is suspected to have crashed into a car, which resulted in a chain-reaction collision involving 10 vehicles. Moreover, Jose was driving a Chevrolet Silverado at the time.

Authorities later arrested Jose Catarino-Reyes for suspicion of felony hit-and-run, and driving without a valid license. Additionally, Antonio Catarino-Reyes was charged for helping Jose escape from the scene.

At this time, the total number of injuries from the Bakersfield hit-and-run collision remains unclear.
