Traffic Collision on Crest Drive Left One Fatality

HEMET, CA (June 27, 2022) – A high-speed head-on crash along North State Street claimed the life of Jorge Paniagua, Wednesday evening.

The accident happened on North State Street and Crest Drive just after 8:30 p.m., per initial reports.

Furthermore, police said a southbound Infiniti sedan driven by Paniagua encountered a northbound Honda Civic turning west onto Sagecrest.

As a result, the two vehicles collided at the intersection, sending the Infinity into a telephone pole.

Eventually, Cal Fire and Riverside County firefighters arrived and declared Paniagua dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, his passenger whose identity was not disclosed, was transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The Honda driver remained uninjured.

Those with further information regarding the accident are encouraged to contact Hemet authorities as soon as possible.

An active investigation into the crash is underway.
