Fatal Car Crash Kills Two near Varni Road in Santa Cruz
SANTA CRUZ, CA (June 8, 2021) – Jorge Betancourt and Anaya Rocha were the victims of the head-on collision on Corralitos Drive on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m., at Corralitos Drive.
Officers say a 2003 Ford Mustang lost control and crashed into a 1998 Honda Accord.
Authorities identified the occupants of the Mustang to be 33-year-old Jorge Betancourt and 26-year-old Anaya Rocha. Paramedics pronounced both of the victims dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, medical personnel transported the 32-year-old female driver of the Accord to a local trauma center for further treatment of major injuries.
The Corralitos Police are investigating possible factors that contributed to the crash. Once available, more information will be released.
