31-Year-old Man Killed in Fatal Car Accident near Ashlan Avenue in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (June 29, 2021)Jordan Miranda, 31, died late Friday night after a hit-and-run accident on Highway 41 near Ashlan Avenue.

The fatal accident occurred on the southbound lanes near Ashlan Avenue around 11:30 p.m., on June 25. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Miranda was driving an SUV southbound on Highway 41 when it crashed for an unexplained reason.

Miranda stepped out of the SUV and proceeded to the third lane of the highway to inspect the vehicle for damage. At the same time, another vehicle came up behind and struck him.

Responding officers discovered Miranda lying on the road. Shortly after, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a female passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries.

CHP stated the driver of the second vehicle fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was later described as a gray sedan.

Authorities are still looking for the suspect at this time.
